Pinups for Patriots Michigan platoon is a diverse group of women that share one common goal: to honor and serve our nation’s military, veterans, first responders and their families. We strive to bring back the patriotism of the WWII era by boosting morale at associated events, helping to fund raise and gather items for collection drives, and by raising awareness for related issues, with a focus on PTSD.
The Michigan Platoon was established in 2014. We are currently over 40 strong throughout the state. Our social calendar is quite busy with events all year long. Muskegon D-Day is our most popular event of the year and Red Cross Hometown Heroes our most formal.
We stand alongside Mid Michigan and Talons Out Honor Flight teams in greeting and celebrating our WWII and Korean war veterans returning from Washington DC’s war memorials. During the holiday season, Pinups for Patriots also enjoy greeting our current service men and women as they return home to spend time with loved ones.
We cheer on Team RWB, and love to show our strong patriotism at several parades throughout the year including; Memorial Day, 4th of July, Paluski Day, and the Detroit Veterans Day parade.
Our most appreciated time is spent visiting residents at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. This includes the much anticipated annual Freedom Flag Benefit offering live music, dancing, and lots of photographs with smiling veteran men and women.
