Mississippi

I am very proud to be the Mississippi Platoon leader. My name is Mistie Watkins “Presley Gene”. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. I met my husband when I was 15 and I’ve been a Proud Seabee wife 18 years. We’ve been stationed in CA, Sicily, and we have been in Gulfport a little over 10 years. I have two teenage kids, one graduated this year and joined the Navy.

I am very patriotic and huge supporter for our troops, veterans, emergency responders and our local community. I love the vintage lifestyle and have a passion for fashion, and crafts. I see plenty of opportunities for Pinups for Patriots to work our way through our local community and spread the word about our organization and cause.

As of right now we have six lovely ladies with the Mississippi Platoon. Our entire Platoon has been trained in Safe Talk, Some of our ladies are veterans themselves, which is great because they can speak from personal experience. We live along the Gulf Coast area. We are currently working on getting events in different towns across Mississippi.

We have been blessed to have MS Armed Forces Motorcycle Club help get us moving. They gave MS our first event, I’m forever grateful. They were the ones who helped get out banner, table runner, and materials to get our booth looking great. They invite us out to all there functions as they love what we represent, and they want to see us succeed.

Dr. Dudley Burwell, Orthopedic Specialist donated to our organization after hearing about our mission. We’re very grateful of that donation. Other locals in our community have reached out and have provided us photoshoot locations, great photographers, make up done. Jerry Luzadder with the Navy Seabee Veterans of America told us we are welcome to attend all of their events. Other locals provided photoshoots with full makeup provided, Jada Bugs Gift Shop in Pass Christian provided our photo shot location. We’ve worked with Aleta Butler from the VFW. They donated so many items for our yard sale. We also attend events with Reb and Crusaders for Vets. We are able to attend the laying of the wreaths at Christmas, and 5K PTSD run/jog.

We’re always looking for more ladies who have the same passion as us. If this sounds like something you want to be part of please submit your application.

Warmest Regards,

Mistie Watkins
